This is the Owner’s favorite. I hope you enjoy my old west Cowboy and Indian
theme complete with the Kachina Collection. It is my personal mountain vacation
home complete with all the comforts of home including telephone, dishwasher, 30’
electric glass top range and double door refrigerator. The kitchen is set up to
cook for a crowd with double sets of dishes, flatware, glasses, including wine
glasses. There are oversized pots and pans, roasters, trays and serving bowls.
The double door pantry/cabinet is sufficient for a week-end or month long stay.
The cabin sleeps up to 9 people. Enter into the great room from the north. The
wood burning fireplace sits on a raised hearth with rustic mantel. The double
and single futons provide additional guest accommodations for that family
reunion or week-end retreat. A full comfort recliner is there in case you have
someone like me that falls asleep watching the 10 pm news. The picture windows
to the north and west give you panoramic mountain and river views. The 27”
Satellite TV/VCR/DVD is in the great room with hundreds of movie titles
available for rent at Our Country Store. The oak claw foot table expands to seat
6 with a picture window looking out to the Poudre River and panoramic mountain
views. Additional conversation areas are in the dining room with double futon
sofa and platform rocking chair. The breakfast table (again, purchased from the
Historic Arrowhead Lodge Restaurant) sits at a picture window overlooking the
Poudre River. I have sat there and watched many whitewater rafters and kayakers
come around the bend and down the rapids. Bedroom 1 has a queen sized bed with
lodge pole headboard, 5 drawer teakwood chest of drawers and mirrored wardrobe
doors on the closet. Bedroom 2 also has a queen sized bed with lodge pole
headboard and 4 drawer chest as well as a closet. Extra pillows, blankets and
oversized hot tub towels are in the linen closet and both bedroom closets. The
oversized redwood deck directly overlooks the Poudre River. You have a gas grill
with side burner for cooking outdoors or for a crowd. Steps down to cabin 15’s
west patio take you to the private Lodge Hot Tub area. Even if you are only
staying for a long week-end, put out the hummingbird feeders. The birds are
fascinating to watch all day but are the greatest at dusk when they swarm around
the feeder like bees, waiting for their turn. Easy parking is provided to the
north of the Lodge with no steps to navigate.
