The beauty of nature is accented by the sound of the horse’s hooves as you enjoy the marvels of nature.  Exploring trails that are not accessible by motorized vehicles provide a unique perspective as you visit the high country meadows, enjoy the panoramic views of the close and distant ranges or listen to the sound of the streams and rivers as they serenade you along your ride.

    There are several stables within easy driving distance from Archer’s Poudre River Resort.  Redfeather Outfitters at Gould are about 30 miles up the Poudre Canyon.  They have an extensive stable and offer several different options for your riding pleasure. What a way to enjoy the terrific Colorado scenery.

    Cottonwood Hollowlocated approximately 15 miles from Archer’s Poudre River Resortis open year round. Cottonwood Hollow is situated on 75 acres adjacent to the majestic Roosevelt National Forest and was once a working cattle ranch.  The barn has been converted to a charming western restaurant. You may also relax by the heated pool, take a trail ride with our wrangler, or bring your own horse and ride in our forest.  Hiking and mountain bike trails abound.

    Beaver Meadows is also a short drive from Archer’s Poudre River Resort.  They have a large stable and feature summer and winter activities.  Sleigh Rides to locate your special fresh-cut Christmas Tree, Carriage Rides, Hayrides, Campfires, and a wide range of other Stable Services as listed below.  They are located close to Red Feather Lakes and are open all year long.
